In the preceding Psalms, the dignity of the just has been manifested; here, however, help is implored against the persecutions of the wicked; and regarding this he does three things. First, he asks for divine help against persecuting sinners. Second, he confesses that he suffers such tribulations on account of sin, at "Lord, not in your fury."
