And these are the words of prophet; hence he says: O Lord, from that by which the Gentiles shall come in, strike Israel with blindness (Rom 11:25): blind the heart, inwardly, and make their ears heavy, lest they perceive, and shut their eyes, lest they understand: for judgment I am come into this world: that they who see not may see; and they who see may become blind (John 9:39).
