And first, he sets out the title: the writing, namely, this is the writing; second, he sets out the song: I said, in which he does three things: first, he laments the danger which he has escaped; second, he recalls the benefit which he has received: O Lord, if man's life be such (Isa 38:16); third, he asks for the fulfillment of what God has promised: O Lord, save me (Isa 38:20).
