And first, he sets out the deeds of the history; second, certain things occasioned by the history: in those days Ezechias was sick even to death (ch. 38). The first of these is divided into two parts: first, the fault which Assyria committed against the Jews is set out; second, the punishment which they sustained from God, where it says, and the angel of the Lord went out (Isa 37:36). …
