Ὁμειρόμενοι ὑμῶν, that is, attached to you and caring for you, from ὁμοῦ (together) and εἴρω (I join). (Further, Blessed Theophylact says: some have read ἱμειρόμενοι, that is, desiring, but this is incorrect.) So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves. "The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (Jn. 10:11). Because you had become very dear to us. "I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls" (2 Cor. 12:15).
