Thomas Aquinas

"All these things." Here he shows their perseverance in good. And he proposes their stability in two respects. A man ought to persist in those things that pertain to faith and in good works. And he says that on account of all these things that have come upon us, that is, on account of all the aforementioned adversities, they neither abandoned the faith in their heart; hence he says, "Nor have we forgotten you." Ps. 88: "All your waves," etc. …
